On March 16th, we’re inviting you to talk about something we all hate talking about. No, it’s not your mother-in-law. It’s not your cat’s litter box either. It’s money.
Each year, Spinal Cord Injury BC puts together The SCI Forum, where a panel of experts talk about different issues related to health and wellness for people with a spinal cord injury or related disability.
This year, the event organizer, Fernando Romero, chose to focus The Forum on “financial literacy”, because it’s an issue that indirectly affects everyone’s mental and physical health.
“The overarching banner of The SCI Forum is health, and people often forget that financial dealings can impact their health,” says Romero, “If someone doesn’t have money to eat well or pay for their gym membership, it will definitely affect their physical and their mental health in the long run.”
The topics to be covered during The Forum on March 16th will include:
- The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP): how they work and why you should open one today.
- Tax Tips: How to fully benefit from deductions related to disability to maximize your tax returns.
- Financial Planning: What the right financial planner can do for you and what free services you should benefit from at the bank today.
Oh and did we mention there would be FOOD and DRINKS from Food Fusions? It’s true!
All our presentations will cover things you can do today (for free mostly!) to improve your financial situation and to help you get peace of mind.
