Share and Share alikeCurrently most of the SCI-BC Peer Program staff host various coffee group gatherings in their community and here in the lower mainland we will begin doing the same.
Spinal Cord Injury BC will begin hosting various Coffee Groups throughout the lower mainland for its members and other who may be interested in attending. Our hope is to provide members the opportunity to give and receive by sharing stories and experiences in a safe and comfortable location – your local local coffee shop.
The coffee groups will be facilitated by a Peer Mentor and the cost of the first coffee is covered by us. (Please note: food costs will not be covered).

Group Sessions are gatherings of people with SC and other mobility disabilities who want to share common experiences, situations, or problems and to offer each other emotional and practical support. These sessions give people the opportunity to develop friendships and build social networks. Participation and support in SCI BC group sessions can lead to a greater improvement in general well-being, greater coping skills, and overall well-being.
If you wish to learn about a group session in your region or begin a group of your own, please contact your local SCI BC Peer Coordinator.
