Feeling alone and looking for answers?A person with a SCI will look to a number of sources for information and support post injury. Often, the best resource is another person with a spinal cord injury who has experience overcoming obstacles and has discovered how to successfully live with their injury. SCI BC facilitates these types of connections through one-on-one peer matches.
One-on-one Peer Matching is when an individual with SCI is matched with another SCI BC Peer volunteer. Once a match is made between a Peer and a Peer Volunteer they then communicate to discuss issue(s) relating to living with an SCI.
SCI BC’s Peer Matching service helps Peers find somebody to talk to, someone who is local and someone who has experienced similar challenges of living with an SCI.
If you would like to find a match, please contact your local SCI BC Peer Coordinator.
