Currently the Peer Mentor Service is a pilot program and has only been offered to individuals who have recently been discharged from GF Strong. We plan on expanding the service to those that need it in the near future.
Peer mentoring is a form of mentorship that takes place, usually between a more experienced individual and a less experienced individual. The relationship has mutual benefits for all parties involved, and is generally used to help the less experienced person achieve their goals by receiving assistance and guidance from the more experienced person.
The service aims to enhance supportive relationships between two people, sharing knowledge and experience and providing an opportunity to learn from different perspectives.
If you would like to be matched with a Peer Mentor please contact your local SCI BC Peer Coordinator.
