The “Heat Dome” in BC, Summer of 2021, brought forward an issue in the minds (and bodies) of many Peers; a complicated ‘heat rash’ in the folds of the skin of wheelchair users. With summer now upon us, and the possibility of another rise in temperature, we thought we would bring the topic up now to help those who might experience this issue which affects Skin and Wound Care. This rash is called Intertrigo and Jessica Lee and Patricia Dahlback from Coloplast will be explaining what it is how to prevent, recognize and treat it. Hosted by our own Scott Heron.

Pat Dahlbeck graduated from the University of Alberta in 1977 as an RN. She obtained her BScN in 1992 and completed her Enterostomal Therapy Program in 2009. She also obtained her Nurse Continence Advisory Certification in 2012. Pat has over 40 years’ experience working in both in acute care and in the community. She is currently employed with Alberta Health Services Facility Living as a casual Wound, Ostomy and Continence Consultant.

Jessica Lee is a Registered Nurse and Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse. She previously worked in both the acute and community setting as a WOCN. She currently works as a Territory Manager for Coloplast Skin and Wound Care.
