Join SCI BC’s Access BC initiative for an interactive universal design workshop, with our Revelstoke region community partners!
The Universal Design Workshop is an introduction to Universal Design and how it applies to tourism and our communities. The workshop will provide staff from Local Government, Tourism Stakeholders, and Outdoor Recreation Professionals & Practitioners an introduction of skills and knowledge to incorporate universal design into programming, facility design, construction and maintenance programs for parks, recreation, business, and civic facilities.
Learning objectives include the differences between accessible building codes & designs, common barriers in the built environment, common dimensions and designs that will improve universal use of facilities, the economic benefits and key elements of universal design, practical tips and more.
