Have you ever thought: “I can’t do mindfulness because my mind won’t stop thinking”? You’re not alone.
Join mindfulness and meditation expert Mary-Jo for short weekly sessions (every Wednesday at noon) dismantling common mindfulness myths that prevent people, especially people with disabilities, from accessing mindfulness in a safe, meaningful, and sustainable way.
A busy mind isn’t a problem, it’s the start point. Instead of treating mindfulness as a way to calm, fix, or optimize yourself, this series invites you to explore it as a relationship with your present-moment experience, grounded in choice, accessibility and self-compassion.
Drawing on neuroscience, yoga philosophy, and disability-informed practice, you’ll learn how mindfulness supports nervous system regulation, resilience, and dignity—without requiring stillness, a pain-free body, perfect focus or spiritual ideals.
