Co-op has units that are suitable for aging in place, with some adaptable or accessible features. Must be 55+. Full time wheelchair users may find the units don’t have quite enough space.
All our units come pre-wired for automatic door openers, have grab bars in the shower, lower light switches, higher electrical outlets, second accessible peephole in the door, draw rod for blinds, large window handles. Some units have more washroom space than others though, so they may or may not work depending on the type of mobility aid. The kitchen cabinets/ drawers do have a decent amount of toe room if someone needs to sit at the counter, though we don’t have the easy-remove ones. The balcony doorway would need a ramp for wheelchair use, but there is plenty of room in the living space to accommodate. Building has two elevators. Street parking only.
