Position overview
As the Operations Training Specialist and Curriculum Developer, you will plan, develop and deliver practical and theoretical training for our Airport Operations Dispatchers, Terminal Duty Officers, Baggage and Gate Schedulers, Emergency Planning team and Operations Centre Managers. You are collaborative and adaptable, and will connect with stakeholders and incorporate feedback from other business units to ensure continuous program improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting training sessions in the appropriate format to the learner and for the subject matter
- Developing an on the job mentoring structure for trainers and trainees; training the trainers to ensure that material is delivered consistently amongst all trainers, such as developing trainer guides and supplementary learning materials
- Assisting with the development and design of training courses and implementing a process to ensure employees are knowledgeable and able to deliver exceptional work
- Writing a variety of training materials that are engaging and leverage current adult learning methodologies
- Augmenting curriculum and lesson plans as needed, based on the learners’ needs
- Developing skills tests and assessments to determine learning progress
Key qualifications include:
- At least five years’ experience in delivering, creating and implementing training programs, supplemented by a post-secondary certificate or diploma (bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources or equivalent is preferred); or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Preference will be given to those with Certified Training and Development (CTDP) and/or Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) designation(s)
- Demonstrated experience with online learning tools and technology, and a strong understanding of the needs of adult learners
- Exceptional presentation (development and delivery), communication and relationship management skills
- Proven organizational, research and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of airport operations, including airport processes, procedures and business partners
