We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst in the Innovation and Technology Group. Reporting to the Manager, Innovative Travel Solutions, the successful candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and service management, as well as broad business and technical knowledge, gained from working with complex business processes and technology products.

This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic self-starter to build a Quality Centre of Excellence from the ground up and ensure that quality is built into all innovation development and product delivery processes.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Collaborating with the business and internal and external development teams to develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) program for products developed in-house. 
  • Developing, refining and implementing comprehensive QA testing processes; this includes developing templates for test planning, test case development, defect reporting and status dashboards
  • Working collaboratively with the business and development teams to review test plans, ensuring end user requirements have been satisfied
  • Updating and refining change management processes and completing the roll out of these processes 
  • Managing the change approval process both internally and with key agency stakeholders, and ensuring the processes are consistently followed
  • Creating, documenting and implementing a standardized methodology for release management
  • Managing the risk of implementing changes to existing applications and systems in order to ensure that these changes do not jeopardize the integrity of existing innovation product offerings
  • Ensuring that all production changes have a documented verification plan
  • Developing, documenting and implementing a standardized methodology for transitioning projects to Operations/Production, including development of checklists and templates
  • Facilitating the service outage review process and ensuring completion of all action items resulting from an outage
  • Developing standards for environment management and working with system owners and operators to ensure compliance
  • Cultivating and disseminating knowledge of QA methodology best practices
  • Coaching and mentoring business resources in the QA processes
  • Managing performance of vendors – defining, negotiating and overseeing compliance of service level agreements
  • Documenting process workflows with an appropriate tool such as Jira, Confluence and Visio
  • Preparing and delivering presentations; facilitating process review workshops
  • Determining requirements, selecting and implementing tools required to support the QA program

Key qualifications include: 

  • Three years of experience as a QA Lead, five years of hands on QA experience including test plan development, change management, release management, and incident management, and ten years of experience implementing and/or supporting systems, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies; QA planning, processes, approaches to testing, defect identification and resolution
  • Experience with testing enterprise level applications and understanding of business processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and facilitation skills with people from all levels of the organization to promote/facilitate business acceptance and implementation of new/revised programs, policies and processes and a demonstrated ability to lead people without having direct supervisory authority
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple activities of varying complexity while under time constraints
  • Demonstrated technical expertise, including ability to write SQLs 
  • Experience with standard testing tools such as Excel, XML Spy, data comparison tools
  • Experience with .Net applications & peripheral device integration
  • Experience with Scrum Development Methodology, Jira and Confluence tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with automated test tools, design and implementation (nice to have)
  • Outstanding communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent documentation skills, including workflow documentation 
  • Strong organization, leadership, coaching, mentoring and project management skills
  • ITIL v3 and/or ISTQB certification (nice to have)
