Are you nervous about traveling in a wheelchair? Curious about how you will get on the plane, what you should pack, or what questions you should ask at check-in? This event is for you!
YVR Experience Days give you an opportunity to “check out checking in” without ever leaving the ground! Check out this video that AMI TV made about Spinal Cord Injury BC’s special accessible travel tour of the Vancouver International Airport, and keep reading to learn the details of the event and how you can sign up.
As a participant you will join our team at YVR and go through the process of accessible air travel… from curbside, to check-in, to security. Participants will even be invited to practice transferring with a Washington chair (also known as an aisle chair).
You will have an opportunity to ask questions in person to airport personnel and to Spinal Cord Injury BC Peers who have many years of travel experience. Get your YVR Experience and get ready to see the world!
If you are interested in participating in the next travel event contact Jocelyn Maffin at
JMaffin@sci-bc.ca for more information. We hope to see you there!
