ASK AN EXPERT Rethink Medication Management with MedManageSCI: A Toolkit for Medication Self-Management for Adults with SCI
MedManageSCI is a comprehensive web-based toolkit to support medication management for the spinal cord injury/dysfunction (SCI/D) community. It was co-developed by researchers, adults with SCI/D, care partners and healthcare providers from across Canada. MedManageSCI is now live and the team is looking for feedback! They will share how the toolkit was created, what it contains and how you can get involved.
About the speakers:
Dr. Sara Guilcher (BSc, MSc, MScPT, PhD) is the Principal Investigator and Scientific Director of the Optimizing Health and Healthcare Experiences (OPTI-HEx) Lab. Sara is an Associate Professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. Sara has clinical training in physical therapy and clinical health psychology, along with applied health services research expertise.
Lauren Cadel (MSc) is a PhD candidate in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. Lauren is supervised by Dr. Sara Guilcher and has been a member of the Optimizing Health and Healthcare Experiences (OPTI-HEx) Lab since 2017. Her thesis work focuses on co-developing, revising, and evaluating a toolkit intervention that aims to improve medication self-management among adults with spinal cord injury/dysfunction in Canada.
Dr. Rasha El-Kotob (PhD) completed her BSc in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, MSc in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Toronto, and PhD in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. Rasha has multi-method and mixed method research experience. She joined the Optimizing Health and Healthcare Experiences (OPTI-HEx) Lab in March of 2023 as a Research Associate.
