This Ask an Expert session is all about knowing your rights, expressing your needs and taking control of your choices. Dr. Mazen Maurice Guirguis will share his perspective as a peer with physical challenges and will guide you through the steps of speaking up for yourself in healthcare, education, employment and everyday life. Discover the power of your voice and how it can help you lead a more independent and empowered life!
About the Expert: Mazen Maurice Guirguis holds an earned Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of British Columbia and teaches courses in logic, ethics, metaphysics and the philosophy of mind in a number of post-secondary institutions in the lower mainland, including KPU, BCIT, JIBC, DC, and NIC. Aside from his extensive writings in philosophy, he has also published pieces on politics and social justice in the Georgia Straight, the Chronicle of Higher Education, the Calgary Harold, National Newswatch, the Winnipeg Free Press, the Brandon Sun, the Saskatoon Star Phoenix and the Ottawa Sun.
