Scott James was born into a family of athletes. By the time he was old enough to play organized sports, he had spent more time in arenas and baseball fields than most people do in their entire lives. He also had a family that moved a lot—by thirteen, Scotty had lived in four different towns and seven different homes.
A spinal cord injury in 2000 didn’t change his love of sports, but it did pave the way for a new career path. After getting support from SCI BC staff through his own challenges, Scotty was ready to give back. As the Okanagan Program Coordinator for SCI BC, he now he gets to live his passion while supporting others to do the same.
Today you can find Scotty out camping, playing wheelchair tennis and wheelchair rugby, or just having a few cold ones somewhere in the beautiful Okanagan.
