Peter Chisholm, Team Captain of SCI BC’s North Shore/Sea to Sky Team

Tell us about yourself and tell us what being a team captain means to you.

I began working for SCI BC as the Peer Program Coordinator for the North Shore Sea to Sky region in October of 2021. Being a part of this organization has helped me learn and grow in my own journey as a person living with SCI. I am an active person who loves to ride my bike and go for long rolls in my community of Lynn Valley. The Charity Challenge is an opportunity to encourage people to also get active, support SCI BC and grow awareness about what SCI BC does. I am excited to be the captain of SCI BC’s Team North Shore/Sea to Sky and am looking forward to our in-person event, happening June 17 on the beautiful West Vancouver Sea Wall.

Why should people donate to Team SCI BC?

SCI BC does a lot with little! The impact of the monies raised allows for innovative programs that improve the quality of life for so many living with SCI and related disabilities in BC.

What kind of activities can your team expect from the Charity Challenge?

SCI BC Team North Shore/Sea to Sky members will take a roll or stroll together along the West Vancouver Seawall from The Boathouse in Ambleside Beach to the Dundarave Pier and back, an approximately 5 km journey.

Anything you would like to say to help your team stay motivated during the Charity Challenge?

Remember the Charity Challenge is a way to get active while supporting your peers. Go at your own pace and enjoy the process. The effort you put in is well worth your while! And to provide extra motivation, SCI BC will be buying folks a treat at the conclusion of the event… Ice cream anyone?

There’s many other ways to get involved in the Charity Challenge! You can still support us by sponsoring a team member today:
