ASK AN EXPERT Catheters for Free BC

In this Ask an Expert session, Andy Caswell shares his work leading Catheters for Free BC Foundation, a new advocacy group with a goal to obtain provincial funding for hydrophilic catheters so that every British Columbian can Pee for Free.

Andy has a neurogenic bladder after a surgery in 2021. He says, “I was stand up paddle boarding on a Thursday and lost the use of both legs suddenly on a Friday afternoon.” Now retired Andy is one of the uninsured in BC saddled with the high cost to purchase catheters. As part of this session Andy will present the problem, the advocacy action plan and the goal of Catheters for Free BC Foundation. Everyone in BC should have the right to Pee for Free!
