Accessible Fishing – Big Qualicum River, Qualicum Bay

Updated on November 15, 2024

The Accessible Fishing Platform is located on Fish Hatchery Road at the Big Qualicum River Fish Hatchery near Qualicum Bay on Vancouver Island. There is disabled parking and a paved walkway to the platform. The platform is 8 feet above the river and has a high safety rail that may make it difficult for some to fish from. During the peak fishing season in the fall, local fishermen have assisted committed wheelchair fishermen down a steep bank for better access to the river. Single barb-less hooks only. Wheelchair accessible washrooms on site.

Anyone fishing or angling in British Columbia must have a BC Fishing Licence. For reduced fee licence application click here.
