Billy Footwear is universal designed footwear that utilizes both accessibility and fashion. The creator of Billy Footwear, who has a disability, was struggling to find shoes that he could put on independently and also looked nice. So he began designing shoes that incorporate zippers that go along the side of the shoes and around the toe, allowing the upper part of each shoe to open and fold over completely. Thus the wearer can place his or her foot onto the shoe footbed unobstructed. Then with a tug on the zipper-pull the shoe closes and secures over top of the user’s foot. It is a simple and easy design that appeals to everyone.
