Cervix Self-Screening

Updated on February 19, 2026

Cervix self-screening makes it possible to screen for cervical cancer yourself, anywhere you feel safe and comfortable. It’s an alternative to the Pap test for regular cervix screening. It may be easier for some people with SCI because it can be done at home and in a more comfortable physical position. Some hand dexterity is required but those who are able to self-catheterize should be able to complete this test without assistance. Testing kits come with simple instructions and diagrams.

See the website for further information on whether this test is appropriate for you and for instructions on ordering yours. Speak to your care team if you have questions about the best test for your situation.
