The purpose of this brief from Disability Alliance BC (formerly BC Coalition for People with Disabilities) is threefold: to provide a snapshot of BC’s motor vehicle insurance system, to identify and explain the areas in need of change, and to present policy options that will address the needs of people who have acquired a disability through a motor vehicle accident. This report was written after consultation with community groups and focuses on two areas: accident benefits and equipment provision.
The report was published in 2007 but may provide useful historical information on ICBC.
