Nelson CARES is committed to providing safe affordable housing to the residents of Nelson BC. There are 144 units available to families, singles, seniors and people with disabilities who can live independently and qualify for a disability pension and who cannot work due to the disability. Demand is extremely high and vacancies are filled using a needs-based criteria system that includes low income status; those fleeing violence and/or at high risk of homelessness; family size and suitability.
