Taking Care of Your Skin

Updated on August 29, 2024

The skin is much more than an outer surface for the world to see. It protects from bacteria, dirt and other foreign objects and the ultraviolet rays of the sun, and contains the nerve endings that say if something is hot or cold, soft or hard, sharp or dull. The skin also plays an important role in regulating the body’s fluids and temperature. Maintaining healthy skin is an important part of post-injury personal care and will likely require a bit more attention than it did before.
