Your generosity allows us to continue to provide vital resources, spend less on fundraising efforts and create new life-changing programs that directly impact the people in our community. By giving in a way that suits you best, you will be helping others while also meeting your own charitable and financial goals.
Let your impact last all year by joining SCI BC’s Moving Forward Monthly Giving Club!
A monthly gift to SCI BC is one of the easiest and most impactful ways to support people living with spinal cord injuries or related disabilities in BC. As a member of our Moving Forward Monthly Giving Club, your monthly donations provide SCI BC with a reliable and sustainable source of revenue that helps form the foundation of our core programs and operations. Your continuous support has a profound impact on the lives of our peers and peer family members, and offers SCI BC stability in uncertain financial times.
For more information, please contact Krystyna Pangilinan at kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222.
Make a significant and lasting contribution by leaving a gift in your Will to SCI BC. There are many options when planning your legacy gift, each with unique advantages. Learn more about legacy giving here.
Making a donation of securities like stocks, bonds and mutual funds is an easy tax-efficient way to support SCI BC. Under Canadian law, when you sell a security, you are required to pay tax on 50% of the capital gain. But when you transfer that same security directly to a charity, you pay no capital gains tax. This means you will receive a tax receipt for the full value of the appreciated securities but will pay no tax on the growth of the securities.
For more information, please contact Krystyna Pangilinan kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222, or donate today.
Making a gift in memory of someone special is an extraordinary way to commemorate their life and create a meaningful legacy in their name.
You can also make a donation in honour of a loved one to celebrate important milestones in their life, such as birthdays, a wedding or simply just to say “thank you.”
When your gift is received, we will notify the recipient or their next of kin of your donation. You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your gift. Make your donation in-memory or in-honour today or contact Krystyna at kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222 for more information.
SCI BC greatly appreciates receiving non-monetary gifts (gifts-in-kind) to support people with spinal cord injury. Gifts-in-kind include items such as property, equipment, electronics and prizes or supplies for events and fundraising auctions.
If you have something you think SCI BC could benefit from and would like to make a donation, please contact Krystyna Pangilinan kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222.
eCards: Send an eCard in honour of someone special. When you send an eCard you’re not only celebrating someone important, you’re also helping to transform the life of someone who is struggling with the challenges of living with a spinal cord injury.
Donation Cards: You may wish to invite friends and family to make a donation to SCI BC in-lieu of flowers at funerals or Celebrations of Life. Please contact Krystyna Pangilinan at kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222 for personalized donation cards or more information.
Create a lasting legacy by establishing an endowment fund in the name of your family or loved one. With an endowment fund, the capital remains untouched but annual interest can continue to support ongoing SCI BC programs, events and resource development. The BC Paraplegic Foundation should be named for endowments.
For more information please contact Krystyna Pangilinan at kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222.
The ‘residue’ of an estate is everything left in your estate after all bills, debts and taxes have been paid and all specific gifts have been distributed. Naming the Canadian Paraplegic Association (our registered charity name) as the Residuary Beneficiary in your Will can help ensure that the residue of your estate will benefit people with spinal cord injuries and related physical disabilities.
Donate a Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for Spinal Cord Injury BC. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to Spinal Cord Injury BC through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for Spinal Cord Injury BC to benefit. After your vehicle donation is complete, our charity will send you a tax receipt and will put your gift to good use.
Click here to donate your vehicle online or contact Krystyna Pangilinan at kpangilinan@sci-bc.ca or 604-326-1222.
