            Instructor Bio

Maria Brownlow began teaching in 2016 after taking her first Yoga teacher training in Nepal.  With training in traditional Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga she began training in therapeutic yoga to deepen her knowledge for working with people with disability, acute and chronic health conditions, and supporting the nervous system. Her passion is how the practices of yoga can be adapted to suit the needs of anyone to promote wellbeing, health and a life filled with adventure! By learning to adapt her own practice after a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2019, her drive only grew to share supportive practices and opportunities for others. Using approaches from Hatha Yoga,  Yoga Nidra, Breath-work, targeted somatic movements, and conditioning techniques from Yoga and Meditation.  Maria is a trauma informed instructor, and completed her 800 Hour Yoga Therapy Program through Ajna Yoga in Oak Bay, Victoria B.C.  Find out more about Maria and what offerings for groups and individuals available at https://www.mariabrownlowyoga.com/.
