Vanessa Lerios-Tonido has over 12 years of experience in auditing, accounting, and finance. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of the Philippines and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Philippines. After working as an auditor in the Philippines, she moved to Singapore, became a Chartered Accountant (Singapore), and gained experience in the retail and e-commerce sectors from start-ups to multi-national corporations. She is pursuing her CPA Canada certification in the Professional Education Program, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning.
In 2023, Vanessa relocated to Vancouver and earned an Advanced Diploma in Sustainable Business Leadership from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). This education further developed her passion for sustainability, social equity, impact reporting, and social value creation. She is honored to contribute to Spinal Cord Injury BC’s activities, helping people form social connections and inspiring positive change.
Vanessa’s working experience and education taught her to appreciate diverse worldviews, cultures, and the power of collaboration and communities. When Vanessa isn’t working, she’s either hiking in North Vancouver, dragon boating at False Creek, or enjoying quality time with her family. She also volunteers for other non-profit sports organizations.
