Vince Miele

Vince was born in Italy raised in Prince Rupert. He has lived in Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond and now Tsawwassen.

Vince worked for SCI BC (known as the BC Paraplegic Association then) for about 30 years until the early 2000s. During his time there, he provided peer counselling as well as advocacy regarding disability issues. His passion for accessibility advocacy has led Vince to submit three human rights complaints that have all been settled successfully; one with Famous Players theatres, another with Orca Bay Sports and the third and most recent with Pat Quinn’s restaurant in Tsawwassen. Through the years, Vince has served on numerous committees primarily dealing with accessibility issues regarding parking transportation and building access.

Since 2005 he has enjoyed competing in wheelchair curling at local, provincial and national levels. He also enjoys keeping in touch with SCI BC peers and currently hosts the Delta SCI BC coffee group and meetups.

In his spare time, Vince enjoys going to dinners with friends, attending Canucks games and also spending as much time as possible with my three wonderful grandchildren.
