Hunting Permits for People with Disabilities

Updated on October 3, 2024

Find out about the different hunting permits available to people with disabilities and how to apply for them, including the new proxy regulations. See the web link to find locations across BC if you prefer to apply in person.

Starting April 2015, hunters in BC who have a physical disability that prevents them from hunting without assistance are able to have a proxy person “shoot, track, kill, and retrieve big game on the disabled person’s behalf”. The regulations require the person with a disability to be present and in close proximity to the companion in order to direct the hunting activities. See the web link for details.
