Parking Charges in BC Communities

Updated on October 11, 2024

The linked website is for SPARC BC, where you can apply for a disability parking placard. Some communities have their own parking programs, but SPARC BC is the only provincial placard provider.

1. In Vancouver you must pay for all parking whether in parking lots or at meters. Here is a map from the city of Vancouver showing locations of wheelchair accessible parking.

2. In Victoria, vehicles with a valid BC disability placard get one hour of free parking on the street (excluding parkades, designated accessible spaces, and 20 minute metres). Buy a daily, monthly or annual pass to get unlimited on street parking. Find out the full details here.

3. In Nanaimo, vehicles with a valid BC disability placard get free parking in designated lots. See full details here.

4. In Kelowna, vehicles with a valid BC disability placard can park for free in city-owned lots and designated on-street parking. See full details here.
