The race is on! This year marks SCI BC’s 12th anniversary of racing in the Charity Challenge. Because of our supporters’ hard work and fundraising efforts, our organization has been in the top 3 amongst charities year after year. We spoke with Macdonald’s Home Health Care (The MHHC Speed) about how they are preparing for this year’s Charity Challenge.

Please introduce yourself and your organization.

We are Macdonald’s Home Health Care (MHHC) and we have specialized in sales, rentals and service of home medical equipment for nearly 20 years throughout the lower mainland. We pride ourselves on our extensive experience and knowledge of all things seating and mobility, and we are known to go “above and beyond” for our clients. MHHC has a long history of supporting and collaborating with SCI BC and its membership. Thank you for this fun opportunity to support SCI BC’s initiatives!

Why should people join or donate to Team SCI BC?

The Charity Challenge is a great event to support an even greater cause. It is important for us to make any effort we can to fundraise and advocate for non-profit organizations, like SCI BC, that supports people living with spinal cord and related injuries. SCI BC’s programs help people throughout British Columbia thrive and grow on a daily basis.

How are you preparing for this year’s Charity Challenge?

Mostly, doing a lot of thinking about it… kidding (sort of). We have some serious fundraisers on our team this year, which is the most important part for us. This is also a great opportunity for our team to connect, do something healthy and reflect on “why we do what we do”.

Any words of encouragement for your team?

Sign up, raise some money and get through the 5 km race any way you can! Let’s do it!

SCI BC would like to thank Macdonald’s Home Health Care for their kindness, hard work and support. We’ll see you on race day!
