Adaptive Bike Clinic & Ride (ABC+)

An ABC+ session is your chance to try out a handcycle, recumbent or upright trike that works for you. It’s a 90 minute session that includes a basic cycling skills and orientation to the bike and a guided ride on park trails.  Clinics are also a great way to try a different type of bike, get hands on practice and go for a ride!

ABC+ sessions take place at Trout Lake Park in Vancouver, and in parks around the Metro Vancouver area throughout the summer. Some ABC+ sessions will be held together with a Spinal Cord Injury BC Peer BBQ.

TO REGISTER: Email Avery Albrecht: aalbrecht@sci-bc.ca for more info!

BYOB & Group Rides

Bring Your Own Bike or borrow one of ours and join in with other handcyclists and riders for a longer recreational trail rides on off-street regional trails around Metro Vancouver. These rides are led by Ride Leader Peter Chisholm and are a great way to connect with other handcyclists and enjoy some of the best trails in the region! We pick trailheads with parking and bathroom access and there’s help to get your bike out and set up if needed.

If you don’t have a bike of your own and have completed an ABC+ session, join a Group Ride in SCI BC handcycle or adaptive bike (depending on availability)

TO REGISTER: If you are riding with your own bike, go to our Cycling BC Registration page  to choose the BYOB ride you want to join, and register using the coupon code 23SCIBC-25 (registration is free).
