Book Club with Lisa

Do you like reading but find it hard to get through a full novel these days? Dive into the enticing world of short stories with SCI BC peer Lisa Hislop and the book club readers. From classic to modern, mystery to Sci-Fi, we read it all.

The stories we read range between thirty minutes to an hour and a half of reading. Text and audio links for the new story drop every Wednesday, and we meet the following Monday to discuss. We begin each session with a synopsis of the story and a round of first impressions. Then we dip our wheels into (entirely unpretentious) literary analysis, examining the plot, themes, characters, author, time period, and other influences. No previous experience or specialized bookish knowledge necessary!
