Mindfulness Without Myths is a one-month mindfulness training series for skeptics, beginners and anyone who’s ever felt like mindfulness wasn’t for you.

Join mindfulness and meditation expert Mary-Jo for short weekly sessions dismantling common mindfulness myths that prevent people—especially people with disabilities—from accessing mindfulness in a safe, meaningful, and sustainable way.

Instead of trying to calm, fix, or change yourself, this course looks at mindfulness as a way to check in with what’s happening right now, with choice, accessibility and self-compassion at the centre. Drawing on neuroscience, yoga philosophy, and disability-informed practice, you’ll learn how mindfulness can support your nervous system and resilience, without needing to sit still, be pain-free, fully focused, or “spiritual.”

Each week tackles a few common misconceptions, paired with short, doable practices and time to reflect. The focus is on meeting yourself where you’re at, building resilience and letting go of perfection.

This series is designed with people with disabilities in mind and is also a good fit for caregivers, educators, health professionals, and anyone curious about a more inclusive approach to mindfulness.
