Susie Jackson has a degree in commerce and business administration from the University of British Columbia with honors in marketing. After graduating, Susie went to work for a start-up breakfast cereal company that was rapidly expanding throughout North America. Eventually, she grew tired of using her marketing talents to make money for the owner, so she looked for more fulfilling pastures in the non-profit world.
Susie spent the next four years with the Canadian Red Cross in their fundraising department before joining Spinal Cord Injury BC (SCI BC) in 2001. She now uses her marketing skills to help raise funds for SCI BC and to connect with donors. Susie says the best part of her job is hearing and writing about SCI BC’s stories of impact, and working with caring, dedicated staff to make a difference in people’s lives.
When she’s not in the office or busy raising her three teenagers, you can find Susie on the tennis court pulverizing her opponents. Be warned – watch out for her crushing forehand. Susie also adores her two spoiled cats, spicy food, furniture shopping and, most of all, hockey.
