The race is on! This year marks SCI BC’s 12th anniversary of racing in the Charity Challenge. Because of our supporters’ hard work and fundraising efforts, our organization has been in the top 3 amongst charities year after year. We spoke with Acera Insurance (Acera’s Red Hot Chili Steppers) about how they are preparing for this year’s Charity Challenge.

Please introduce yourself and your organization.

Hello, my name is Mike and I would like to introduce you to Acera Insurance, the largest, employee-controlled brokerage in Canada. As a full-service brokerage, our employees have specialized expertise across a broad spectrum of sectors, providing our clients with impartial advice and customized personal insurance, commercial insurance and group benefits solutions. Personally, I work closely with the team at SCI BC, providing consultation services on their employee benefit needs.

Why should people join or donate to Team SCI BC?

SCI BC is a great organization, doing such great work for people with spinal cord injuries. The more help we can offer, the greater ability SCI BC has to positively impact those who live with spinal cord injuries.

How are you preparing for this year’s Charity Challenge?

The Acera Red Hot Chili Steppers are busy training for various run lengths.

Any words of encouragement for your team?

Let’s go! This is such a great organization. I am so happy to run to support SCI BC.
