Life is better around the campfire (and with friends)!
Join SCI BC and Accessible Okanagan at Fintry Provincial Park (just outside West Kelowna and Vernon) for a fun-filled camping trip! Spend time in the great outdoors, partake in fun games and activities, hang out with friends by the campfire and enjoy a sweet treat or two.
Whether you come for all four days, or just want to stop by, we hope to see you there! On Wed, Sep 2, join us for BBQ lunch at 1 pm and adaptive paddleboarding with Access Revolution. As always, family and friends are welcome.
Please RSVP to Scotty at sjames@sci-bc.ca.
At Spinal Cord Injury BC, our events are designed for people living with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and related disabilities (whom we call “peers”). We know no one navigates life alone, so you’re welcome to bring a family member, friend, caregiver or other supporter. Please note that all event times are listed in Pacific time, PCT (UTC-7).
Peer support is at the heart of our work. Our Peer Program events are led by people with lived experience of SCI and related disabilities, creating a welcoming space where you can connect with others who truly understand.
We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive space for everyone. If you need help with transportation, wayfinding, accessibility, language support, or anything else to participate comfortably, we’re happy to help!
SCI BC makes every effort to select accessible venues and assess accessibility features in advance. While we do our best to provide accurate accessibility information, venue accessibility features are managed by the venue itself and may change without notice.
- Outdoor events may involve changing weather and environmental conditions, including rain, snow, heat, cold, wind, smoke and other seasonal factors. SCI BC may provide supports such as shade, water, cooling measures, or shelter when feasible. We encourage you to consider your individual needs and bring any personal equipment, clothing, medications, or supports you may require for a safe and comfortable experience.
- SCI BC does not provide, sell or serve alcohol at this event. However, some participants may choose to bring and consume their own alcohol. SCI BC does not monitor or supervise alcohol consumption. We encourage everyone to drink responsibly and be mindful of the comfort and safety of others.
